A unique aspect of our local chapters is that creativity is encouraged, and if a club for a particular activity doesn’t exist, members are empowered to create one.

Job Overview

Shriners International has an opportunity for a Web Developer for our Headquarters facility.  This is a hybrid work model, working primarily from home but physically based in the Tampa Bay area.


The Web Developer develops new and maintains existing web applications and technologies utilizing various types of packaged and customized supportive applications, languages, tools and IDE’s, as well as database management systems on the web, which have the capacity to store substantial amounts of data. The Web Developer insures that the design and patterns of the developed websites meet the requirements of the users and management in terms of graphics, effects, animations, functionality, and features. The Web Developer consults with users and management to define system requirements and resolve problems; designs, implements, modifies and maintains computer software that supports various applications and business processes; performs detailed program design, codes, tests, debugs, and documents new programs. The Web Developer revises and updates existing programs and documentation as required, and also provides various types of support as required for purchased software applications such as Microsoft productivity software, etc. The Web Developer includes planning and effecting data sharing and interfacing among disparate applications, working with vendor provided tools such as query and report writers, import and export utilities, etc.


This position is based in the Tampa Bay area working partial remote (i.e., some work remote from home and some from our Tampa Headquarters).

  • Implementation, Testing and Deployment (new software) – 34%
    • Code and test program modules and database stored procedures utilizing applicable development languages. Create program and system documentation; Test subsystems; Test fully integrated system; Create and perform unit and user acceptance testing; Create user documentation; Deploy software on web servers.
  • Requirements Definition and Specification – 17%
    • Review, analysis and definition of business requirements that justify a Web solution. Hardware, systems software, communications, database and data conversion, training, documentation and implementation requirements are evaluated and determined during this phase.
  • Software Maintenance (existing software) – 16%
    • Same as Website Design and Oversight and Implementation and Testing sections, except that tasks are done to maintain, modify or enhance existing software rather than develop new software.
  • User Support – 16%
    • Support provided includes problem resolution, training, software enhancement determination, program enhancements and hardware and software (developed or purchased) utilization assistance.
  • Website Design & Oversight – 17%
    • Collaboration with the “client” regarding requirements and expectations from projects. Providing suggestions and guidance for improving the quality of the website. Monitor the ranking and maintaining the quality of websites and improving as required and needed.



  • 3 years’ software development and support in an ASP.Net environment using MVC, JSON and JQuery/JavaScript required
  • 3 years’ T-SQL (MS SQL Server) and relational database management systems, including creation and maintenance of complex and efficient stored procedures. required
  • 3 years’ website front-end development, javascript, jquery, CSS, HTML required
  • 3 years’ end-user support experience required
  • Experience with Progress Software tools (Telerik and Kendo) preferred



  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computers Science preferred



  • Well versed in different computer languages and applications that are required in website design and full-stack development in a Microsoft environment using ASP.NET (.Net Standard and Core, MVC, WebAPI). Some of these essential languages and software are C#, HTML, Json, JavaScript, jQuery, DOM, CSS and SQL. Strong background in GUI type software development tools (MS Visual Studio).
  • Proficient communications and problem-solving skills necessary to effectively communicate with users, management and others in seeking and effecting solutions.
  • Ability to blend user requirements and interests into satisfactory and acceptable programs.
  • Ability to produce documentation and training materials using MS Word and other software products.
