Job Overview

The Web Developer/Programmer develops new, and maintains existing, web applications and technologies utilizing various types of packaged and customized supportive applications, languages, tools and IDE’s. The Web Developer/Programmer develops database management systems on the web which have the capacity to store substantial amounts of data and ensures that the design and patterns of the developed websites and are as per the requirements of the users and management in terms of graphics, effects, animations, functionality, and features. The Web Developer/Programmer consults with users and management to define system requirements and resolve problems and designs, implements, modifies and maintains computer software that supports various applications and business processes. The person in this role performs detailed program design, codes, tests, debugs, and documents new programs. revises and updates existing programs and documentation as required, and provides various types of support as required for purchased software applications such as Microsoft productivity software, etc. Includes planning and effecting data sharing and interfacing among disparate applications, working with vendor provided tools such as query and report writers, import and export utilities, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Code and test program modules utilizing applicable development languages. Create program and system documentation; Test subsystems; Test fully integrated system; Perform user acceptance testing; Create user documentation; Deploy software on web servers.
  • Review, analysis and definition of business requirements that justify a Web solution. Hardware, systems software, communications, database and data conversion, training, documentation and implementation requirements are evaluated and determined during this phase.
  • Essentially the same duties and responsibilities as above in both the Website Design and Oversight and Implementation and Testing sections except tasks are done to maintain, modify or enhance existing software rather than develop new software.
  • Support provided includes problem resolution, training, software enhancement determination, program enhancements and hardware and software (developed or purchased) utilization assistance.
  • Collaborate with the ‘client' regarding requirements and expectations from projects. Providing suggestions and guidance for improving the quality of the website. Monitor the ranking and maintaining the quality of websites and improving as required and needed.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 3 years of experience with software development and support in an ASP.Net environment using MVC, JSON and JQuery/JavaScript
  • 3 years of experience with T-SQL (MS SQL Server)
  • 3 years of experience with website front-end development using Javascript, JQuery, CSS, HTML
  • 3 years of end user support
  • High School Diploma/GED

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with Progress Software tools (Telerik and Kendo)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
